Read the Reality → Reflect → Co-create → Reflective Practice: Learn & Adapt ↻
01 — READ THE REALITY
Start by listening and understanding. Work with organisations, agencies, teams and stakeholders to understand different perspectives, needs, priorities, existing capacities and the wider factors shaping what is possible.
02 — REFLECT
Create space to think together. Bring organisational knowledge, stakeholder perspectives, evidence and experience into the conversation to question assumptions and explore possible ways forward.
03 — CO-CREATE
Turn collective insight into practical action. Develop strategies, programmes, tools and learning processes together, grounded in the realities of those who will use, implement or be affected by them.
04 — REFLECTIVE PRACTICE: LEARN & ADAPT
Make continuous learning part of the process. Reflect systematically on experience and emerging evidence—what is changing, what is working, what is not, and why—and use learning to adapt and strengthen the work.
P&CD will initiate, design and convene spaces connecting practitioners, institutions, researchers, communities and other actors around critical questions emerging from peacebuilding practice.
GRASSROOTS ↔ PRACTICE ↔ RESEARCH ↔ POLICY
Practitioner dialogues — Exploring difficult questions emerging from practice.
Policy–practice exchanges — Bringing institutional and policy actors into conversation with field experience and grassroots knowledge.
Learning labs — Testing ideas, tools and emerging approaches.
Cross-sector conversations — Connecting humanitarian, development, peacebuilding, research and policy communities.
Multi-stakeholder dialogues — Engaging different perspectives, responsibilities and forms of knowledge around shared challenges.
Peacebuilding rarely happens through one institution acting alone. Knowledge should travel in both directions.
